I write as a board member of the Whatcom County Library Foundation and to announce an upcoming event that can include us.
The afternoon of November 5, the amazing Whatcom County Library System consisting of the other libraries in Whatcom County (ten, soon to be eleven, and the bookmobile) is presenting Open Book. Billed as “a book lover’s dream day.” The event will include presentations by noted authors, a pop-up book shop, and other activities.
And, Red Wheelbarrow Writers has been invited to present readings on a Local Authors Stage!
Here are some details:
- We’ll have an hour (2:15 – 3:15), the usual 3 to 5 minute time limits, depending on the number who sign up;
- The venue is the Ferndale Events Center;
- Noted authors who will “keynote” are Thor Hanson, Rena Priest, Phoebe Wahl, and Arianne True, Washington’s new Poet Laureate;
- If you are a speaker, your books will be sold by Village Books.
