Carla Shafer, Jack Straw Writer selected in 2023, has poems in Whatcom Places II and I Sing the Salmon Home. AnS.C. Boynton winner, she has several chapbooks. She was host of the Chuckanut Sandstone Writers Theater Open Mic (1991) and published the 2021 anthology, Solstice: Light and Dark of the Salish Sea.
