Location

Fall is in the air!

This month’s Happy Hour is on October 4 at 4 pm in The Commons at First Presbyterian Church. The entrance to The Commons is on the alley that runs parallel to and between N. Forest Street and N. Garden Street, and is directly behind the YWCA building.

Parking

There are a couple of dedicated parking spaces directly outside The Commons and more parking in the FPC parking lot (accessed off Laurel), as well as alley and street parking. Then walk down the alley to the Commons.

What to Bring

Please bring your own refreshments and a few dollars to contribute to the pot. If you’d like to read, bring a 5-minute exerpt to share with the group.

See you Saturday!!

A Message from Village Books…
Calling Memoir & Nonfiction Writers!

Join us at the Village Books Nonfiction & Memoir Writing Group
Tuesday, October 14th
9:30–11:00am
Village Books, Fairhaven

It’s free, friendly, and open to both new and experienced writers.

Here’s how it works:

  • 3–4 people share a piece (up to 1,000 words).
  • The group listens closely and offers thoughtful feedback.
  • Everyone leaves with new perspectives and fresh ideas.

When I first joined, I was nervous — no formal writing training, just a desire to tell my story. What I discovered was a supportive, insightful group that helped me grow as a writer. Listening, sharing, and receiving feedback has been invaluable.

We meet twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesdays, 9:30 to 11am.

Join us — we’d love to hear your voice.
